Our Founding Story

The Singapore Institute of Mentors (SIMe) was founded by a collective of experienced mentors, educators, wellness advocates, and corporate leaders who recognised the growing importance of structured, ethical mentoring in society.

They envisioned an organisation that would protect the integrity of mentorship, provide national recognition for credible mentors, and ensure that every mentoring relationship in Singapore promotes growth, safety, and well-being.

Rooted in Singapore’s spirit of excellence, SIMe now serves as the national body governing mentor conduct, recognition, and development, bridging families, workplaces, and communities through mentorship.

Governance & ESG Compliance
SIMe operates as a non-profit company limited by guarantee, overseen by a Board of Directors and guided by an Advisory Council of senior mentors and sector experts.

Our governance model aligns with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles:

  • Environmental: Promoting digital transformation and sustainable mentoring practices.

  • Social: Focusing on mentee safety, mentor well-being, inclusivity, and community impact.

  • Governance: Enforcing ethical oversight through our Code of Conduct, Mentoring Ethics Committee, and annual transparency reports aligned to ISO 26000 standards.

Each year, SIMe publishes an ESG and Impact Report detailing our outcomes in mentor training, supervision, and social reach — ensuring accountability to members and the public.
